A recent video interview held with Dr Franz Ortner MD, trauma surgeon, has confirmed a number of important clinical findings.
cTreatment allows us to operate much sooner
Dr Ortner, one of Austria’s leading key opinion leaders for trauma, confirmed that at least one or two days are saved between the moment of hospitalization and surgery.
“We experienced that applying cTreatment in trauma situations advances the time to operate on a patient dramatically. We can operate on the damaged tissue much sooner as cTreatment rapidly takes away the swelling. To the hospital it means we can operate the patient sooner so we have more bed- capacity available for a higher patient throughput”.
This clearly has a positive effect on the hospital’s economics.
Patient comfort. Staff relaxed. Resources better used
The surgeon and his team experienced before 2010 that patients with convential procedures in trauma situations absorbed much more attention and usually suffer from pain and thus poor night rest. Also, the demand on the support staff resources was much higher.“Contrary to other experiences, cTreatment offers relaxation to the patient. Also, we can handle our patients under normal capacity.”
Post-operative recovery acceleration: discharge 1 - 2 days sooner
Dr Ortner also sees a more speedy recovery for his patients post-operatively. The swelling reduction is very noticeable. Patients experience much less pain and are thus on less pain reduction medication. And clearly, they can start their physical therapy exercises sooner.
“Looking at the whole post-op period, we discharge patients one to two days sooner,” concluded Dr Ortner.
Side effects?
Wiener Neustadt’s trauma department applied cTreatment in almost all trauma situations since over one year. No adverse effect at all have been observed.
“We can extract energy for hours on end, exactly what is required for the patient’s recovery process.“
He concluded: “We have not come across another solution that has provided us this result that we could operate faster, and discharges patients much sooner.”
